How is COVID-19 affecting volunteer opportunities?
We are now over two years into the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to respond to the health risks associated with COVID-19, the Community Food Bank's safety committee has made changes in order to maintain basic services to our clients and communities. These involve encouraging vaccination to all staff and volunteers, increased sanitizing precautions, as well as social distancing.
Our Leadership, People & Culture, and Reopening teams have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 case numbers, case rates and hospitalizations. Based on CDC guidelines for counties CFB serves, mask recommendations can be relaxed. Therefore, beginning on Monday March 21, indoor mask wearing will be optional for all staff, volunteers, and clients at all Community Food Bank locations. As possible, numbers of people indoors will continue to be limited, and we will work to maintain distancing and good air flow at our locations. If you have particular questions, please talk to your supervisor(s) at our various resource centers and locations or send us an email.
Please be considerate and respectful of peers who may continue to wear masks, and individual recommendations may vary. Therefore, if requested to wear a mask in a group setting by a particular site or supervisor, please do so.
If at any time local health authorities or the CDC recommendations change, we will comply with those recommendations for the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and our community.
