This opportunity is ONLY for individuals seeking Court Ordered Community Service hours. CSV hours will only be counted if signed up on a Court Ordered Community Service opportunity. Do not sign up for any other opportunity that is not Court Ordered. You will only be able to sign up for this opportunity once you have been given the approval from Volunteer Services. Please follow the steps below:

Charges: Please note, we DO NOT accept volunteers who have been charged with violent offenses such as but not limited to: assault, domestic violence, sexual harassment, harassment, sexual abuse, armed robbery, disorderly conduct, or aggravated assault. 

Dress code: We ask that you don't wear tank tops, crop tops, short shorts or sandals/flip flops when volunteering--all shirts must have sleeves and must cover armpits, abdomen, chest and no politically affiliated Clothing.  All shoes must be closed-toe-and-heel shoes. Please be aware that failure to follow the dress code may result in dismissal from volunteer activity for the day.

If you are not able to e-mail us a picture of your court documents please come to the Community Food Bank (3003 S. Country Club) during business hours (Tues-Fri 8:30am-1pm) and we can help you at reception.

Once you have made an account, we will send you a confirmation email that you have been qualified and that you can now sign up for the Court Ordered Opportunity.

Check in:  Meet in the lobby, make yourself a name tag, and sign in on one of our Volunteer Kiosk. Warehouse Safety Rules: Please follow these safety rules to have a great volunteer experience!

For a safe and fulfilling volunteer experience, volunteers must complete the Good Manufacturing Practices training found under one’s account qualifications. One should feel comfortable working inside and standing for a majority of the shift in variable temperatures, and be able to perform physical work (more below). Basic Spanish is helpful, though by no means necessary!

All volunteers must be aware of and uphold the safety expectations below in order to volunteer. Note: Lockers are available; however, you will need to bring your own locks. we highly suggest leaving your personal items in your vehicle or at home.

Volunteers who feel sick or who have come in close contact with a sick person should NOT volunteer.Regularly wash/sanitize your hands before, during, and after your shift (including breaks) (hand sanitizer will be available for use) Volunteers agree that they feel safe and are able to perform essential tasks, including... Standing for the majority of the shift length General ability to lift 25-50 lbs from the ground or over the head Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and walk No use of cell phones, iPods, headphones, etc. while in the warehouse For food safety, do not chew gum or smoke while volunteering No food or glass is permitted in the warehouse distribution area Only water is allowed in the warehouse; there is a specific location for water bottles to be stored during the shift

NOTE that, on occasion, distribution times may extend past the allotted time or end early. If it extends, due to a large volume of clients, we ask that you stay to assist with the completion of all clients in distribution. Thank you for your consideration and flexibility!

 Parking, Entering, and Checking-In (Tuesday - Friday): Both gates will be open upon arrival for volunteers and staff to park. Please park in the outskirts of the main lot if possible. If it looks full, please park in the south lot, and be vigilant for truck traffic. Volunteer: 4th of July Diamonds in the Sky Celebration (2026)

Volunteers needed to help us collect food and donations at the 4th of July Diamonds in the Sky Celebration.

There will be three lines that lead to security entrances at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium. The volunteers will be standing near the collection totes that we have setup, instructing participants to drop their non-perishable donation into the totes. Volunteers will be assigned upon arrival at 4:30pm. The volunteer shift will end at 8:30pm.

Parking will be free and onsite. After 8:30pm Volunteers can stay and watch the fireworks at no charge!

^Kino Sports Complex has a clear bag policy for this event. Please remember to bring one if you plan to watch the fireworks after your shift : )

**Due to the nature of our kitchen volunteer opportunities, we need to coordinate with first-time volunteers who have not yet had an orientation in our kitchen space. Caridad Community Kitchen is looking for volunteers to join our team in portioning & packaging meals for our community.  Volunteers will be trained by experienced volunteers and staff. Shifts take place Monday - Friday starting at 12pm and ending at about 3pm. All tasks are done in a teamwork-based setting and volunteers are generally expected to arrive at 12pm and stay for the entire shift. 

Shift Tasks Set up, re-stock supplies, and clean up work area at end of shift Portion meals and sides designed specifically for our senior community Work in an assembly line on specialized equipment to seal meal trays Count, sort, and organize meal items for next-day pickup by partners, as time allows Treat all volunteers and staff with dignity and respect, while adhering to Caridad Community Kitchen’s food safety guidelines Ideal candidate qualifications & Physical expectations Fine and gross motor-skills in fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders as volunteers use kitchen tools to scoop, place, pick-up, and move meal materials Comfortable working as part of a team Interest & ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good oral communication skills Able to lift between 20-30 pounds Able to stand for 4 hours (volunteers take breaks as needed) Able to adhere to our kitchen dress code to maintain the safety of our food (see below for dress code)

All earrings and facial jewelry must be removed. No exceptions.  Hair nets, aprons, and gloves will be provided by our program and need to be worn in the kitchen

Our dress code helps us keep both our volunteers and our food safe! Volunteers will be working directly with food, with our commercial kitchen equipment, walking in and out of our walk-in coolers & freezers, and working in our warehouse space. Long pants, socks that cover the ankle, and closed toe shoes help keep our feet & legs safe from accidents while removing our jewelry and watches ensures that nothing we are wearing makes its way into our food.

As a kitchen that serves individuals in our community who are at an increased risk for contracting food-borne illnesses, we take health and food safety very seriously.

These Health & Food Safety Guidelines encourage practices and behaviors that can help prevent individuals from spreading illnesses and/or foodborne pathogens to food. Health & food safety is of the highest important to us. Our meals are serving community members who may be experiencing a compromised immune systems and potentially lack regular access to medical care.

Please do not come to our facility until more than 24 hours have passed since your last symptoms have subsided. Please do not arrive for your volunteer shift. While we rely on and love to have our volunteers with us in person, your health and the safety of our food is more important! 

If you have been diagnosed with a contagious disease that can be transferred via food AND you have worked at the Caridad Community Kitchen, please notify our volunteer coordinator as soon as possible. All tasks are done in a teamwork-based setting and volunteers are generally expected to arrive at 12pm and stay for the entire shift.

Our dress code helps us keep both our volunteers and our food safe! Volunteers will be working directly with food, with our commercial kitchen equipment, walking in and out of our walk-in coolers & freezers, and working in our warehouse space. Long pants, socks that cover the ankle, and closed toe shoes help keep our feet & legs safe from accidents while removing our jewelry and watches ensures that nothing we are wearing makes its way into our food.

Volunteer: Sorting Donations

Please be aware that if we are  low on food to sort, volunteers may be asked to help with produce sorting, labeling cans or other opportunities that need more crucial help. 

In Sorting, volunteers help sort donated food, produce and labeling cans. Most of this food will be miscellaneous, canned or fragile, and we'll need help checking expiration dates and making sure that each item is safe to eat and in good condition. Volunteers must be flexible to sort perishables as needed as well. Hand sanitizing stations, gloves, and masks will be provided if needed. 

Volunteers between 12 and 16 years old need to have a guardian to volunteer.

Please ask the supervisor for the recall book to properly sort items.

Social distancing will be maintained as best as possible Regularly wash/sanitize your hands before, during, and after your shift (including breaks) (hand sanitizer will be available for use) Volunteers agree that they feel safe and are able to perform essential tasks, including... Volunteer: Client Check-in Training

The Community Food Bank needs the help of volunteers to check clients on computer systems. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred but not required. This opportunity requires significant training and we ask that volunteers commit to volunteering at least once per week for at least 3 months. This client-facing role involves staying in one area for 3-4 hours, with the option to stand or sit as needed.

Client check-in volunteers can be expected to do the following tasks following an in-depth training: Verify client documentation Update client profiles as needed Register new clients Issue client food tickets Refer clients to the resource desk for additional support Answer client questions & engage with clientIdeal volunteer qualifications: Able to volunteer regularly once/week for at least 3 months (ideally)Able to communicate with neighbors and provide them with a quick and positive experience

Warehouse Safety Rules: Please follow these safety rules to have a great volunteer experience! 

No usage of cell phones, radios, iPods or headphones in the warehouse Please follow the dress code above (closed-toe shoes, shirt with sleeves)  No eating, drinking, smoking or chewing gum in the warehouse  Warehouse tasks may require you to stand for long periods of time, lift approximately 25 poundsSafety Guidelines:

Warehouse Safety Rules: Please follow these safety rules to have a great volunteer experience! 

No usage of cell phones, radios, iPods or headphones in the warehouse Please follow the dress code above (closed-toe shoes, shirt with sleeves)  No eating, drinking, smoking or chewing gum in the warehouse  Warehouse tasks may require you to stand for long periods of time, lift approximately 25 poundsSafety Guidelines:

Volunteer: Canstruction 2026

Canstruction is a competition in which builders, architects, engineers, and more compete to see who can create the best sculptures made out of canned goods. The canned goods are then donated to the Community Food Bank to help replenish our pantries during the summer. This volunteering opportunity will be during build day, for which we will be hosting some family-friendly activities while witnessing these Cansculptures come to life.

Volunteering for this event may include tasks like checking in team members, handing out flyers to get people to vote for their favorites, helping clear trash (packing materials), monitoring our "try it yourself" table where guests can try their hand at stacking cans, and any other event support.

The event will take place inside of the Park Place Mall, right in center court. The closest entrance is next to Yard House. There will be a large banner inside center court hanging from the ceiling.

This event is the culmination of the 2026 Tucson Iron Chef!

What You’ll Do:

Lead a 60-90 minute guided grocery store tour for 5-10 low-income participants

Teach practical tips on healthy eating while sticking to a budget

Follow a structured curriculum—no special certifications required! Just complete our Grocery Store Tour training

What We Expect:

Commit to at least two tours per month

Provide your own transportation to the food bank (if needed for materials) and the assigned grocery store

Be flexible with scheduling to accommodate participants' needs
