Where can I volunteer? What are your current opportunities?
We have various volunteer opportunities across all of the locations in our organization. Currently, many opportunities are on hold or have limited capacity due to COVID-19. Things are changing constantly as the pandemic evolves and more opportunities will likely open up in the coming months. Click here to view current opportunities: Current Opportunities
Tucson Warehouse
Our current opportunities at our Tucson warehouse are Emergency Food Distribution, Emergency Food Box and Bag Production, and Sorting.
Caridad Community Kitchen
At Caridad Community Kitchen, the main volunteer opportunities are "Grab & Go Meal Assembly" and "Senior Meal Packaging & Portioning". Volunteers help package and distribute Grab & Go Meals to our community members. These meals are given out from Caridad and partner agencies around Tucson. Senior Meals are packaged and portioned by volunteers at Caridad and they are then delivered to homebound seniors and seniors living in community centers in Tucson.
Nuestra Tierra Learning Garden
Volunteers at Nuestra Tierra help with duties including planting, transplanting, and sorting seeds (all underneath our shady ramada), weeding, harvesting in the garden, and greenhouse work.
Las Milpitas Community Farm
Las Milpitas de Cottonwood is a six-acre community farm, located on the banks of the Santa Cruz River, that provides materials and support for local residents to grow food for themselves, making healthy, local food more accessible to low-income families. The farm offers family garden plots, gardening supplies, and educational workshops at no cost. Volunteers at Las Milpitas generally volunteer on Saturday mornings helping with a variety of tasks around the farm.
