Volunteers will learn about the Community Food Bank, the mission and what we do to help our neighbors and our community. We will go over all of the opportunities that Community Food Bank offers to volunteers including other Resource Centers and Milpitas Cottonwood Farm, Caridad Community Kitchen and Nuestra Tierra Garden. You will be able to chose an opportunity that best fits your need as a volunteer.
Please note, orientation is for long-term volunteering only.
Please make sure to check-in at reception and get a name tag.
Dress code: Please be aware that failure to follow the dress code may result in dismissal from volunteer activity for the day. Comfortable, closed-toe and closed-heel shoes
All tops must have sleeves (no tank-tops) No short-shorts
Name tags (provided at the front desk upon arrival)
Parking, Entering, and Checking-In (Tuesday - Friday):
Both gates will be open upon arrival for volunteers and staff to park. Please park in the southern region of the main lot if possible. If it looks full, please park in the south lot, and be vigilant for truck traffic. (see below)
As able, please reserve the central parking lot for clients
After parking, make your way to the lobby (see below) to check in at a computer kiosk
