We need volunteers for Canstruction Tucson: Build for Hunger! Groups and individual volunteers 16 years or older are needed to help architecture, engineering, and construction teams with deconstructing colossal structures made out of canned foods.
Volunteers will help with:
- Dismantling cans from 10'x10'x10' structures, placing them into large totes
- Ensuring food labels are intact and legible
- Discarding used building materials (e.g., zip ties, tape, etc.)
- Keeping surrounding areas clean, and free of debris or other tripping hazards
Volunteers agree that they feel safe and are able to perform essential tasks, including...
- Standing for the majority of shift length
- General ability to lift 25-50 lbs from the ground or over the head
- Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and walk
